WITH VIEWS ACROSS THE COUNTRYSIDE
WITH A THRIVING LOCAL COMMUNITY
Sudbury is an ancient market town set in the Stour Valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is surrounded on three sides by beautiful water meadows and rolling hills that were the subject of many paintings by Constable and Gainsborough. Little wonder then that walking along the riverside trails to enjoy the natural beauty is a regular pastime here.
Sudbury's commercial heart is centred around North Street with a medley of independent stores and traditional pubs with friendly atmospheres serving real ales. There are antiques and art galleries, delicatessens and quirky designer shops, Sudbury even has its own independent department store, Winch & Blatch.
The prosperous town has a reputation for a wide range of dining options from Asian to English, French and Polish. Top of the current popularity list is Shillingfords at the Quay Theatre with delicious seasonal dishes prepared with foraged and locally sourced ingredients.
On Thursdays and Saturdays Market Hall is crowded with stalls for the long-established general market and on the last Friday of every month is the well-attracted farmers' market. Sudbury's healthy community spirit continues throughout the year with a full diary of events including Party in the Park, Suffolk Day, a firework display and the Christmas Fair.
